The Best Veterinarian in Maryland

The Best Veterinarian in Maryland is Dr.Shawn Koelemeyer at Mountainside Vet. in Reisterstown, Maryland. I have been so happy with the way he has taken care of my 8 year old Dogue de Bordeaux- Chico! We just started seeing him this year after 3 different Veterinary offices. I won't specify which ones they are due to lible, but know they are all in the Baltimore area. I have spent thousands at these Vets. only to have them rush me through appointments and give me misdiagnosis. One escorted me and Chico out because she said he was vicious...anyone that has a mastiff knows better. She also had my male cat ready for surgery to turn him into a female- because of his crystals- when I got a second opinion, after $3,000.00 of her "care" the next Vet put him on Prozac and he was doing better. However, that Vet. let us go thru painful operations of his paw ( a partial amputation) only to suspect later that he had bone cancer. Two weeks after spending $2500.00, I had to euthanize him, and they charged me $200.00 for that. Thank goodness my friend Ellie recommended Mountainside. It is a little hike for me to go to Reisterstown- but well worth the drive! Dr. Koelemeyer is awesome with Chico and when he had to have his tumor removed- he did the surgery and the bill was only $700.00- that included the follow-up visit for stitches removal and consultation. I thought it was going to be in the thousands. Chico ended up diagnosed with cancer and tested positive for Lymes. He is on antibiotics and his "chemo" treatment is a cocktail of Benadryl and Pepcid Ac. He is doing great! Dr. Koelemeyer takes the TIME to talk to you and explains everything clearly- if you are like me and get overly anxious/ emotional when going to the Vet.- please take your pets to him. My pets are like my children, and I am finally so HAPPY to find someone I can trust and who is not just ripping me off! I know some folks out there have large breed dogs/ mastiffs- change Vets. now! Dr. Koelemeyer also owns a Dogue de Bordeaux himself, and he is great handling them. Ellie had her friends go to see him after their dog was diagnosed with a spinal problem- turns out she only has Lymes...they are now Dr. Koelemeyer's patients! I have never blogged before- but I thought this too important to pass by- I know so many folks who are spending so much money trying to keep their pets healthy- don't waste anymore of your hard-earned cash- go to Mountainside Vet in Reisterstown.
